Dr. Tom Tyler, dean of the Arkansas Tech College of Business, recently visited the Liberty Bank location at the Russellville City Mall to thank bank officials for their sponsorship of the College of Business Distinguished Lecture Series during the 2009-10 academic year.
Liberty Bank’s sponsorship allowed the Arkansas Tech College of Business to bring two successful alumni home to the Tech campus to speak to current students and faculty during the recently completed academic year.
Dr. Jane Baldwin, director of graduate accounting programs and professor of accounting at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, was the fall 2009 speaker. She is a 1977 graduate of Arkansas Tech and a 29-year veteran of the Baylor faculty.
Dr. Bill Hardgrave was the spring 2010 guest for the Distinguished Lecture Series. Hardgrave earned his bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Tech in 1987. He served on the faculty in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville from 1993-2010. Hardgrave accepted an appointment as dean of the Auburn University College of Business in April.
