Jerod McCormick is the recipient of the 2011-2012 Dr. Pat Gordon Award for most outstanding graduate of the year in health and physical education at Arkansas Tech University.
McCormick (photographed) is from Mena. He has already received his baccalaureate degree and has started work on his Master of Education degree in physical education at Arkansas Tech.
His parents are Paula and Leonard McCormick of Mena.
The award’s namesake served on the Arkansas Tech health and physical education faculty from 1965-2001. Gordon was elevated to professor emeritus status by the Arkansas Tech Board of Trustees in March 2010.
