Arkansas Tech’s Morgan McKellar is the Great American Conference volleyball defensive player of the week for Oct. 9.
McKellar, a freshman from Katy, Texas, recorded 103 digs over the last week while helping the Golden Suns win four of their six matches.
McKellar matched her career high with 27 digs against Pittsburg State on Friday.
She had established her career high with 27 digs against McKendree on Sept. 8.
In all, McKellar has reached double figures in digs in 17 of her first 24 matches as a Golden Sun. Her 3.69 digs per set average ranks her 10th in the GAC this season.
Arkansas Tech (17-7 overall, 5-1 GAC) will host Southern Nazarene for a 6 p.m. GAC match at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Friday, Oct. 12. Admission will be free.
