Arkansas Tech University is the lone institution of higher learning in Arkansas and one of 65 colleges and universities across the United States selected to participate in the 2019-20 NASPA Lead Initiative.
NASPA, a national organization for student affairs professionals in higher education, offers the Lead Initiative as a resource for colleges and universities that wish to incorporate civic learning in their educational offerings.
Events celebrating the annual U.S. Constitution Day and programs encouraging students to exercise their right to vote are examples of opportunities within the NASPA Lead Initiative.
This marks the second consecutive year that ATU has been selected for the program.
Kara Johnson, coordinator of civic engagement in the ATU Department of Campus Life, is designated as ATU’s NASPA Lead Initiative representative.
