Arkansas Tech University will close out the non-conference portion of its 2019-20 men’s basketball regular season schedule by visiting nationally 11th-ranked Missouri Southern State University on Saturday, Dec. 21.

About the Wonder Boys: Arkansas Tech is 2-0 against Missouri Southern under head coach Chad Kline. The Wonder Boys defeated the Lions 75-72 in Russellville on Nov. 28, 2015, thanks to a 3-pointer by Nick Wayman with 25.3 seconds remaining. ATU earned a 103-92 win over Missouri Southern in Joplin on Dec. 19, 2016. Alex Brown scored 32 points and Grant Prusator added 23 points to help the Wonder Boys collect their third victory in 20 all-time road games against the Lions. ATU was 14-of-30 from 3-point range in its 2016 win over MSSU.
About the Lions: Missouri Southern competes in the NCAA Division II Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. The Lions were 25-8 last season and reached the regional finals of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. They feature 6-foot-9 All-America center Cam Martin, who is averaging 22.6 points and nine rebounds per game this season. MSSU is coached by Jeff Boschee, who played at the University of Kansas from 1998-2002 and is the Jayhawks’ all-time leader in career 3-point field goals made (338).
