Nick Makris went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and four runs batted in to lead the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys to an 11-7 win over the Missouri Southern Lions in game two of a baseball doubleheader at Tech Field in Russellville on Wednesday.
Missouri Southern (2-4) led 3-1 going to the bottom of the third inning, but Tech bounced back with three runs in the third, three more in the fourth and a four-run fifth inning to build an 11-6 lead.
Missouri Southern’s Jacob Taylor led off the sixth inning with a home run, but that was the extent of the Lions’ comeback bid.
Tech’s Matt Johnson was 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, while Clint Stroud was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Joe Walton and Tyler Shaw had two hits apiece for the Wonder Boys.
Michael Banks (1-0) pitched two innings of relief to earn the victory on the mound. Dustin Thomas came on to pitch the final two and one-third innings for Tech.
