One of the first people that many incoming freshmen will meet is their orientation leader. Orientation leaders help new students learn more about Arkansas Tech, and the Office of Student Services is accepting applications for orientation leaders for 2010-2011.
Those chosen to serve as orientation leaders will “help with orientation sessions and activities for new students during the summer and before classes begin in the fall and spring.”
Applications are available in the Office of Student Services in the Doc Bryan Student Services Building, and applications must be returned by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 12.
Orientation leaders are required to attend a training session, and they are required to work at least three summer orientation sessions. Orientation leaders must also work during TECH Connect, which will take place August 21-24.
Students must meet the following requirements to be eligible:
- Be a full-time student
- Completed one semester at Tech
- Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the university
Students meeting the required criteria must also interview for the position. The interviews will take place on Wednesday, March 17, and on Thursday, March 18.
