One class on the Arkansas Tech University – Ozark Campus learned about public speaking recently. A guest speaker from Toastmasters International helped students in the Special Topics-Human Relations class learn ways to be effective speakers.
Richard Suits of Toastmasters International spoke to the class last week about how to be more comfortable when speaking in public.
Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization that helps individuals become more competent and comfortable in public speaking, and Suits has been involved in the organization for more than 40 years.
Suits told students to embrace creativity when designing a speech and to always practice a speech before giving it to a group.
Several Arkansas Tech University – Ozark Campus students said the practical tips Suits offered will be useful when having to speak in the future.
