Coates, a business major, served as secretary for Phi Beta Lambda, which hosted the event that saw the Arkansas Blood Institute collect 47 units from 41 donors.

The Arkansas Blood Institute and Phi Beta Lambda will sponsor a blood drive Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus.

The drive, which take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., will be held in Room 117 of the Student Services Conference Center, located at 1700 Helberg Lane.

Each donor will receive a T-shirt, health screening and donor reward points, according to information provided by ABI.

To donate blood, one must have a photo ID; be at least 16 years old (signed parental permission required for 16 year olds); weigh at least 125 pounds if 16 or 17, and 110 pounds if 18 or older. Also, donors should eat a good meal and drink plenty of fluids before and after donating, and get a good night’s rest beforehand.
