Members of the Arkansas Tech community and River Valley residents will have the chance to cheer on Tech basketball during a pep rally on Thursday. The university will host a pep rally in front of the Doc Bryan Student Services Building at 3 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
Organizers say members of the Wonder Boys and Golden Suns basketball teams will be in attendance, and both coaches are scheduled to speak to the crowd during the pep rally.
Several members of the Arkansas Tech Band of Distinction, the Tech Cheerleaders and the Golden Girls will also perform during the pep rally.
“The students at Arkansas Tech really deserve the credit for this pep rally,” explains Dr. Gary Biller, vice president for student affairs. He adds, “They were so proud of the accomplishments of our basketball teams that they wanted to honor and recognize the efforts of the student-athletes and coaches.”
Both the Wonder Boys and Golden Suns are the GSC Conference Champions, and both teams earned number one seeds to the NCAA Division II Tournament South Regional. Both tournaments are taking place at Tucker Coliseum, and the first tournament is scheduled to begin on Friday.
