Percussion Ensemble Takes the Stage Monday

The Arkansas Tech University Percussion Ensemble will be joined by two faculty members serving as guest artists during a concert at Witherspoon Auditorium on Monday, April 10.

The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission will be free and open to the public.

Dr. Cynthia Hukill, associate professor of music and head of the ATU Department of Music, and Dr. Lowell Lybarger, associate librarian, will perform alongside the ensemble.

Pieces scheduled for the program include “Study in 5/8” by Mitchell Peters, “Shared Space” by Ivan Trevino, “Lasciatemi Morire” by Claudio Monteverdi and “Sinister Minister” by Bela Fleck.

Student performers in the ATU Percussion Ensemble are Kaela Bowen, Taylor Cotroneo, Bo Hamilton, Alexis Harris, Sean McGinnis, Ian Neisender, Ethan Nooner, Nick Parnell, Shane Phillips, Connor Skelly and Bryan Torres.

The ensemble is conducted by Philip Parker, professor of music.
