Students wishing to participate in the Tech Loyalty Fund Phonathon have until 5 p.m. this afternoon to apply. Student callers are needed for the phonathon, which helps raise funds for Arkansas Tech University.
Applications to be a student caller are available in Room 209 of the Administration Building, Career Services, Financial Aid or the Alumni House.
The phonathon begins on Sunday, February 14, and runs through Thursday, March 18.
Kristin Smith, director of the Tech Loyalty Fund, says the phonathon depends on students. She adds, “The students are what makes our phonathon successful. The Tech graduates can hear the passion and excitement in our students’ voices, and that really makes a big difference.”
Last year’s phonathon raised more than $36,000 that helped “provide scholarships and departmental support” for Arkansas Tech. Smith says those donating during the phonathon are able to designate their donation to an area of their choice.
Tech officials say student callers should be able to work a minimum of two shifts a week, and they must have “Tech spirit and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.”
