Pittsburg State University swept a non-conference softball doubleheader from Arkansas Tech University at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex in Russellville on Tuesday.
The Gorillas defeated the Golden Suns by scores of 6-0 and 7-0.
Pittsburg State’s pitching was the story of the day.
Game one starter Cheslyn Mitchell (1-1) tossed a three-hit shutout, while game two starter Hilary Erbert (5-8) threw a five-hit shutout.
The Gorillas improved their overall record to 9-16 with the wins. Arkansas Tech is now 9-11 overall.
The Golden Suns will visit Missouri Southern for a 3 p.m. doubleheader in Joplin, Mo., on Friday, March 16.
