Community members in Russellville will have the opportunity to learn more about the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center on Thursday.
Jim Reser, director, will be speaking about the center to members of the Russellville Downtown Association. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. at the Russellville Depot in downtown.
During the presentation, Reser will discuss the ASBTDC and the services it provides to small business owners. Reser says he hopes to see more small businesses in the River Valley take advantage of the opportunities provided by the ASBTDC.
The regional office, which is located in Arkansas Tech’s Rothwell Hall, serves seven counties and is dedicated to assisting new, existing and expanding businesses. Among the services provided are consulting, training and market research, and many ASBTDC services are provided free of charge.
The ASBTDC represents a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and other institutions of higher education in the state.
There are about 1,000 centers across the country, and the network of small business development centers is the largest outreach program coordinated by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
