Three retirement receptions to honor those retiring this year have been announced on the Arkansas Tech University campus.
The College of Education will host a reception on Tuesday, April 20, from 3-4:30 p.m. in the Chambers Cafeteria East Dining Room.
Dr. Byra Ramsey, associate professor of early childhood education, will be recognized during Tuesday’s reception.
Ramsey has served on the Tech faculty since 2000.
The College of Business will host a retirement reception for Dr. Tom Tyler in the Chambers East Dining Room from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28.
Tyler has served on the Arkansas Tech faculty for 43 years and will retire as dean of the College of Business. He is a professor of economics. Tyler’s retirement is effective June 30.
On Thursday, April 29, the College of Arts and Humanities will host a retirement reception for three professors retiring from the college.
Those to be honored during the reception include: David Kreuger, associate professor of history and political science; Nita Herrick, associate professor of music; and Ruth Harrison, associate professor of English.
Kreuger, Herrick and Harrison gave a combined 124 years of service to the Tech faculty. Krueger came to Tech in 1960, while Harrison has been part of the Tech faculty since 1970 and Herrick has been on board since 1976.
The College of Arts and Humanities retirement reception is scheduled for 4-5 p.m. in the Witherspoon Hall Lobby.
Arkansas Tech faculty and staff are invited to attend all three receptions.
