Lyon College’s Andrew Sauceda drove in the go-ahead run with a triple in the bottom of the eighth inning and the Scots went on to an 8-6 non-conference victory over Arkansas Tech University in baseball action on Tuesday.
Riley Hickerson went 1-for-3 with a home run and two runs batted in for the Wonder Boys.
Lyon’s Reese Chovanec (3-0) earned the win on the mound. He allowed two run over three and one-third innings of relief before giving way to Tyson Campbell, who pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his first save of 2018.
Tech reliever Zack Kesterson (0-2) was the losing pitcher.
The Wonder Boys (10-8) will resume the Great American Conference portion of their 2018 baseball schedule by visiting Henderson State University for a three-game set at Clyde Berry Field in Arkadelphia on Sunday, March 11, and Monday, March 12.
