More than twenty senior art majors at Arkansas Tech will have the opportunity to showcase their work during two senior art exhibitions.
The artistic efforts of 24 students will be on display throughout the course of the two shows. Students taking part are from several emphasis areas including graphic design, fine arts and art education.
The first show will focus on graphic design pieces, and it is scheduled to open on Saturday, March 31. The opening reception will run from 7-8:30 p.m. Those wishing to view the exhibit will have until Friday, April 13.
The second show features fine arts pieces, and it is scheduled to open Saturday, April 21. The opening reception will run from 7-9 p.m., and the exhibit will be on display through Friday, May 4.
During both opening receptions, students will be on hand to discuss the pieces they have created.
Organizers say in addition to creating pieces for the show, the students are required to establish career goals, create a cover letter and draft an artist statement, which are designed to help prepare the students for a career in art.
Gallery hours at the Norman Hall Gallery are from 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and from 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, visit the gallery website.
