The National Weather Service has notified the public that severe thunderstorms are likely in Arkansas during the afternoon and evening hours on Saturday, April 15.
The advisory indicates the region including the Arkansas Tech University campus in Russellville is under an enhanced risk for severe weather, while the ATU campus in Ozark is included in an area under a slight risk for severe weather.
Damaging straight-line winds and large hail are perceived to be the primary threats with this system. Tornadoes are possible.
If the severe weather leads to any building issues (including leaks in any ATU facilities), those who discover the issues are asked to contact the ATU Office of Facilities Management at (479) 968-0261 for assistance.
