Arkansas Tech University students have selected senior Emily Shain as their 2016 Homecoming queen.
Shain, a music education major from Paragould, was named the queen during Saturday’s halftime festivities at Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field.
She was nominated for the Homecoming court by Tau Beta Sigma and Kappa Kappa Psi. She is active in Tau Beta Sigma, Sigma Alpha Iota and a volunteer for Because We Can. She is also a drum major for the Arkansas Tech Band of Distinction and a member of the Arkansas Tech University Choir.
Her parents are Michael Shain and Loretta Lynxwiler.
Upon graduating from Arkansas Tech, she hopes to pursue a career as a music educator in the state.
