Arkansas Tech Students in Free Enterprise have been working hard over the course of the year to help provide food for those in need in the River Valley.
The Arkansas Tech chapter of SIFE joined with dozens of other SIFE chapters from around the country for the Let’s Can Hunger challenge, which is sponsored by Campbell’s Soup Company.
As part of the challenge– the Arkansas Tech SIFE chapter pledged to collect at least 5,000 pounds of food to be distributed in their local community.
To date, the Arkansas Tech chapter has collected more than 7,800 pounds of food, which has been donated to Main Street Mission.
The challenge includes several elements such as raising awareness, translating awareness to action in the form of urgent hunger relief and empowering those in need to defeat the cycle of hunger.
This marks the second year Arkansas Tech SIFE members have taken part in the Let’s Can Hunger challenge.
