Hand sanitizer and batteries were among the in-need items donated by Arkansas Tech University sociology and criminal justice students to the River Valley Shelter for Battered Women and Children in December 2021.
Representatives from Alpha Kappa Delta, the national honor society for sociology students, collaborated with Alpha Phi Sigma, the national honor society for criminal justice students, to collect and deliver 250 items to the shelter and its residents.
Their community service is an extension Alpha Kappa Delta’s project entitled “Six Months for the Shelter,” which began in October 2021. Students will continue to collect items for the shelter over the first three months of 2022.
