Jim Reser, center director for the new Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center regional office at Arkansas Tech University, has announced the first two seminars that the office will host for community business people.
“Five Small Business Strategies for Social Media” and “Seven Steps to Small Business Success” will provide interested parties with a back-to-basics look at strategies for connecting with potential customers.
Both seminars will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the newly-opened Rothwell Hall on the Arkansas Tech campus. The events are part of Arkansas Entrepreneur Week.
The “Five Small Business Strategies for Social Media” seminar is set for 1 p.m. The program will give business owners and managers the knowledge they need to utilize Web sites such as Facebook and Twitter as low-cost and effective marketing tools. Cost is $35 per person.
“Seven Steps to Small Business Success” will begin at 6 p.m. and will focus on business plan keys for success and common pitfalls to avoid. Cost is $30 per person, and veterans are invited to register for the seminar at no charge.

The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is a cooperative effort between the U.S. Small Business Administration, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and six other institutions of higher learning inside the state.
