The Golden Suns have six regular season league games remaining, and they are one-half game behind GAC-leading East Central University. The Suns have won 15 consecutive home games, including a 9-0 mark at Tucker Coliseum this season. Arkansas Tech is 82-4 at home under sixth-year head coach Dave Wilbers. About the Lady Tigers: Ouachita Baptist is on its first losing streak of the season after back-to-back setbacks against East Central (72-64 on Feb. 2) and Southern Nazarene (72-69 last Saturday) in its last two outings. The Lady Tigers defeated Arkansas Tech 84-81 in overtime at Arkadelphia on Jan. 10. The win snapped a 12-game losing streak for OBU in games against the Golden Suns. The Wonder Boys had previously lost four consecutive road games. Arkansas Tech ranks second in the Great American Conference and ninth in NCAA Division II in field goal percentage defense (.388). Tech ranks second in the GAC and 24th in the nation in scoring defense (62.1 points allowed per game). The Wonder Boys are 7-1 at home this season and 31-4 at Tucker Coliseum during Doug Karleskint’s three-year tenure as Arkansas Tech head men’s basketball coach. About the Tigers: Austin Mitchell is the man to watch for Ouachita Baptist. The 6-foot-5 senior forward from Conway made 8-of-13 shots from 3-point range and scored 27 points to lead the Tigers to a 57-52 win over Arkansas Tech in Arkadelphia on Jan. 10. In his last seven games against Arkansas Tech, Mitchell has averaged 19.4 points per game and shot 54 percent (31-of-57) from 3-point range. Mitchell ranks sixth in NCAA Division II this season in 3-point field goals made (3.45 per game).
