Arkansas State Police and the Arkansas Tech University Office of Public Safety are investigating an alleged hazing incident involving Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.
Authorities are investigating to determine if an Arkansas Tech male student hospitalized in Little Rock received his injuries through an alleged hazing incident.
Arkansas Tech has suspended its chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
The university learned of the injuries on Saturday, April 21. Officials from the Arkansas Tech Office of Student Services contacted Arkansas State Police, which is leading the investigation with assistance from the Arkansas Tech Office of Public Safety.
“The health of our student is by far our primary concern,” said Susie Nicholson, vice president for student services and university relations at Arkansas Tech. “Arkansas State Police will continue its work to identify the facts of this case. In the meantime, the student and his family will be foremost in our thoughts.”
