Anglers from numerous colleges and universities are in the River Valley this weekend to fish on Lake Dardanelle. The student-anglers will be participating in the annual Arkansas Tech University Invitational.
The event is part of the BoatU.S.Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Series, and the event in Russellville will be televised on the Versus Network on August 4, at 9:30 a.m. and on August 8, at 11:30 p.m.
Thursday morning is the final day to pre-fish, and the Parade of Boats, banquet and pre-tournament sign-in meeting will take place Thursday evening.
Anglers will hit the water Friday morning around 6 a.m. to begin the tournament, and the anglers will be back in the water about the same time Saturday.
Teams will weigh-in on Friday and Saturday at 3 p.m. at the weigh-in facility at Lake Dardanelle State Park.
Organizers say a variety of family-friendly activities are planned during each weigh-in including a rock climbing wall, inflatable games and a mobile aquarium.
