Arkansas Tech graphic design student Natsuki Uno has been selected as a student volunteer for the 2010 Special Interest Group on Graphics and Interactive Techniques annual conference this summer in Los Angeles.
The SIGGRAPH annual conference is attended by tens of thousands of computer and graphics professionals, and as a volunteer, Uno will be able to attend the conference sessions and network with industry professionals.
Conference organizers also host several events during the conference specifically designed for the student volunteers including résumé and portfolio reviews, presentations by industry leaders and the chance to participate in mentoring opportunities.
Student volunteers for the SIGGRAPH conference were selected from a competitive application process.
“Being selected as a student volunteer for SIGGRAPH is a great honor for Natsuki and for Arkansas Tech,” added Edwin Cuenco, assistant professor of art. “During the conference, she’ll have access to the latest concepts and technologies in the industry, which will be a great additional educational tool to go along with what she’s learned at Arkansas Tech.”
