Area junior and senior high school students will have the opportunity to perform with Arkansas Tech’s Band of Distinction on Saturday as part of the “Member for a Day” program.
Arkansas Tech’s “Member for a Day” event invites junior high and high school students who are interested in music to experience marching with a university marching band.
In its second year, close to 300 students from across the state are expected to take part
Students participating in the event will rehearse with the Arkansas’s Band of Distinction and perform pregame with the band.
The itinerary for the day’s events:
- 1-2:30 p.m. – Rehearsal with Arkansas’s Band of Distinction at Thone Stadium
- 2:30 – 5 p.m. – Free time. Students can eat dinner in Russellville and change into their school’s marching band uniform.
- 5 p.m. – Students will meet in the Tech Band Room (located in Witherspoon Hall) and march to the stadium.
- 6 p.m. – Kickoff at Thone Stadium
