The Arkansas Tech Student Government Association voted to pass several amendments to the SGA Constitution at their meeting on Wednesday, March 17.
The proposed changes will now be voted on by the students at Arkansas Tech in a special election, which is slated for Thursday, April 1.
The election will take place from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. in Doc’s Place, and students must present their valid Tech identification card to vote. The changes must receive a two-thirds majority vote in order to be adopted.
The Constitution Committee began meeting last October to look at revisions to the constitution. Some of the proposed changes include: executive board structure, increasing the size of the SGA, procedures for appointments, impeachment numbers and grammatical issues.
The proposed constitution is available for viewing on the Student Government Association website.
