One of the most successful seasons in Arkansas Tech University women’s golf history culminated with an 11th-place finish at the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio, May 17-20.
The Golden Suns returned team scores of 325-316-321-313 for a 72-hole team score of 1,275.
Caroline Fredensborg was ATU’s top individual finisher. She posted rounds of 83-78-79-76 for a four-day total of 316 and a share of 30th place.
Pia Nunbhakdi (T-33rd, 78-78-84-77-317), Avery Struck (52nd, 81-84-79-80-324), Anna Frandsen (57th, 83-80-82-81-326) and Jessica Sachs (T-64th, 89-80-80-83-332) also represented the Golden Suns in Findlay.
Barry University (Fla.) won the NCAA Division II women’s golf championship with a 72-hole total of 1,222. Marie Coors of St. Leo University (Fla.) captured the individual crown with a four-day score of 295.
Head coach Amy Anderson and the 2016-17 Arkansas Tech women’s golf team won four titles, including a third consecutive Great American Conference championship and the first NCAA regional title in program history. The Golden Suns qualified for the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships for the third time in the last four years.
