Arkansas Tech and Southern Arkansas worked into extra innings twice on Tuesday in Gulf South Conference softball at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex in Russellville, and both teams came away with one victory.
The Golden Suns (15-13 overall, 5-5 GSC) scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning in game one to force extra innings. Tech won it 4-3 on an RBI bunt single by Roxie Palacios in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Southern Arkansas (8-17, 4-6) earned a split by scoring four runs in the top of the ninth in game two for a 5-1 victory.
The two sides will play another doubleheader beginning at noon Wednesday.
