Arkansas Tech students are working to ensure others in the state have plenty to eat this summer.
Students in Dr. Jason Ulsperger’s classes, along with the Arkansas Tech sociology honor society, donated several hundred non-perishable food items to the organization HIV Arkansas.
In all, the students collected more than 700 items for the organization.
The group HIV Arkansas is based in Fayetteville and works to provide education and advocacy for those living with HIV and AIDS.
Ulsperger and several of his students delivered the food to the group earlier this month. Ulsperger says the food will be distributed to individuals the organization serves who are experiencing food insecurity.
“I’m always surprised Tech students are so willing to support organizations around the state,” said Ulsperger.
