Nebo: A Literary Journal won first place in the fiction writing category for magazines. Three Arkansas Tech students captured individual first-place honors on Friday. Haley Sohl of the Nebo staff won first place in magazine poetry for her work “Independence.” Irvin G. Torres won first place in magazine cover design for his work on Nebo. Kurt Lanning of the Arka Tech staff received the top ACMA newspaper award in general column writing. Other ACMA award-winning students from Arkansas Tech include James Ritchie, who earned second place in magazine editor of the year for work on Nebo; Micah Hunter, third-place recipient in the news writing category for an article about new bicycle regulations in the Arka Tech; and Alex Duvall, honorable mention for review writing in the Arka Tech.]]>
