Tech Takes 16th at Southern Stampede

Cami Hedstrom was Arkansas Tech University’s top individual finisher and the Golden Suns finished 16th among a field of 21 teams at the 2016 Southern Stampede cross country meet, which was hosted by Missouri Southern State University on Saturday in Joplin, Mo.

Hedstrom completed the 5-kilometer course in 19 minutes, 18.49 seconds to finish 51st among a field of 193 runners.

Shannon McLaughlin (77th, 19:45.09), Amy Riera (86th, 19:57.25), Logan Edwards (118th, 20:39.83), Mary Simmons (135th, 21:00.01), Megan Bradley (143rd, 21:07.90), Angel Mapp (168th, 22:10.44), Erika Nava (174th, 22:51.62) and Adrianna Simmons (175th, 22:55.99) also ran in the race for Arkansas Tech.

The Golden Suns will compete at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville on Saturday, Oct. 1.
