Nationally 10th-ranked West Florida defeated the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns 5-0 in the first round of the Gulf South Conference Tennis Tournament in Montgomery, Ala., on Saturday.
The loss ends the Golden Suns’ season with an overall record of 10-6.
Tech was 4-2 in GSC West Division play this season, its best regular season GSC tennis record ever and its best finish in conference play since the 1995 Golden Suns went 11-1 in Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference tennis matches.
Tech made its third consecutive appearance in the GSC Tennis Tournament.
