Area residents will be able to properly recycle electronics tomorrow, as several Arkansas Tech student organizations will partner to host a technology recycling drive.
The drive is taking place from 8:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. in the Tucker Coliseum parking lot, and office equipment, computer hardware and home electronics are being accepted as part of the drive.
The students groups working on the technology drive include SIFE, the Marketing Club, the Engineering Club and the Computer Club. The groups have joined with Green Source and Pope County to collect the equipment and transport it to a regional recycling center.
Organizers say the drive is a great way to get rid of obsolete equipment in a manner that isn’t harmful to the environment.
This is the second year that Arkansas Tech has hosted a drive. Last year hundreds of computers and electronics were donated as part of the drive, and some of the computers donated last year were able to be refurbished and donated to an area school.
