Arkansas Tech University registered student organizations have a new opportunity to enhance their student organizations through a service provided by the Office of Campus Life.
The Office of Campus Life has purchased a management software for registered student organizations, which is designed to help organizations improve their internal communication and marketing efforts.
The new system is called theLink, and it allows each student organization to have a custom page for their organization. Other features of theLink include the ability to document service hours, complete campus forms, and communicate with members.
Aubrey Holt, coordinator of student life, says she is excited about what theLink will mean for students.
“TheLink will greatly benefit our Registered Student Organizations by offering tools to enhance their communication within their organization but also with our department and the Arkansas Tech campus,” says Holt.
Holt says one of the best features of the software is that it will streamline communication with student organizations.
“This software will embed other resources of an organization including Facebook walls, Google calendars, and Twitter feeds, which means members no longer have to check several different sites to stay informed,” says Holt. “Additionally, the Office of Campus Life will utilize theLink to consolidate the processes for Registered Student Organizations. All event forms and other important documents will now go through theLink. This will speed up the process and allow students to check the status of their submissions.”
Holt says the software will also allow students to promote their organization through a virtual flyer board found on the site.
Student organizations interested in learning how to use the new system are invited to attend a 30 minute training session on Monday, April 16. The training will take place at 4 p.m. in the Doc Bryan Lecture Hall.
