Students wishing to attend Time-Out for Tech have until 5 p.m. today to register for the event. The annual academic preview day is scheduled for Thursday, February 4, and is the largest preview day on the Arkansas Tech campus.
Thousands of high school seniors usually attend the event to learn more about college life at Arkansas Tech. During the event, students receive information about the more than 100 programs of study available. Students are also able to visit with Tech professors to learn about specific academic programs.
There will be campus tours available for students and parents who would like to see the campus, and there will also be a campus housing tour. The housing tour features several residence halls that are housing options for future students.
Several optional sessions are planned for students, which include information about campus housing, financial aid and campus involvement.
“Time-Out for Tech is a great opportunity for high school seniors and their parents to see first-hand all that Arkansas Tech has to offer. I would encourage any high school senior that is considering Arkansas Tech to attend Time-Out for Tech,” says Shauna Donnell, assistant vice president of enrollment management at Arkansas Tech.
Those attending the 2010 Time-Out for Tech are also entered to win a two-semester tuition scholarship to attend Arkansas Tech, and every senior in attendance will also receive a free t-shirt. The t-shirt design was chosen by high school seniors and Arkansas Tech students during a competition last fall. See the 2010 Time-Out for Tech t-shirt.
