Elizabeth Underwood has accepted the director of marketing position at Arkansas Tech University on a permanent basis.
Underwood took interim leadership of ATU’s marketing efforts in August 2022. Her permanent appointment to the director of marketing position was announced by Brittny Daubenheyer, ATU assistant vice president for student affairs in enrollment management, on Wednesday, Sept. 6.
“Elizabeth is more than deserving of this permanent title, and I know she will accomplish great things,” said Daubenheyer.
Underwood’s experience in marketing ATU dates back to her days as an undergraduate student. She completed a graphic design internship during the 2011-12 academic year that included 600 hours creating a wide variety of materials for print and online distribution.
After graduating from ATU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design in 2012, Underwood enrolled in and completed the Master of Arts degree program in graphic design at Northwestern State University (La.).
She returned to ATU in a full-time role as creative services manager from 2014-19, and following a three-year stint as senior graphic designer for the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute, she came back to Arkansas Tech as director of publications and creative services in May 2022.
“I appreciate the grace extended by the ATU community as we have navigated the past year, and I look forward to playing this small part in the success of the marketing team,” said Underwood.
