Arkansas Tech University students will enjoy a week-long series of campus activities as part of WonderWeek 2014. Designed to show support for athletic teams at Arkansas Tech, the fifth annual week of events of events will run from Monday, Feb. 17 through Saturday, Feb. 22. Below is a list of several events planned as part of WonderWeek:
WonderWeek Begins at Arkansas Tech
Monday, Feb. 17 – Karaoke Night
- Tech students will enjoy the opportunity to karaoke with friends
- Event begins at 7 p.m. in the Baswell Techionery
- Sponsored by WonderWeek 2014 Committee
Tuesday, Feb. 18 – Casino Night
- Tech students can play casino games to win prizes
- Event begins at 6 p.m. in the Young Ballroom
- Sponsored by Residence Hall Association
Wednesday, Feb. 19 – Light the Night
- Tech students will enjoy learning about a variety of cultures from international students
- Event begins at 7 p.m. at the Hindsman Belltower
- Sponsored by the International and Multicultural Student Services Office
Thursday, Feb. 20 – Big Money Bingo
- Tech students will play bingo in hopes of winning a several prizes
- Event begins at 7 p.m. in the Doc Bryan Student Services Center Lecture Hall
- Sponsored by the Student Activities Board
Thursday, Feb. 20-Friday, Feb. 21 – Let’s Can Hunger
- Tech organizations will build a can sculpture in hopes of winning funds for their organization
- Sculptures should be completed by 1 p.m. Friday
- The sculpture with the highest vote totals will win $300
- Sponsored by Enactus
Friday, Feb. 21 – Miss Tech Pageant
- Tech students will watch their peers compete to be named the 2014 Miss Arkansas Tech
- Event begins at 7 p.m. in the Witherspoon Building Auditorium
- Sponsored by Delta Zeta
Saturday, Feb. 22 – Gold Rush
- Tech students can watch the Wonder Boys and Golden Suns basketball games
- Golden Suns play at 2 p.m.
- Wonder Boys play at 4 p.m.
- Sponsored by WonderWeek 2014 Committee
WonderWeek is a joint effort between several student organizations including of Student Government Association, Residence Hall Association, Student Activities Board, International and Multicultural Student Services Office and the 2014 WonderWeek committee.
