Update on Power Outage at ATU in Russellville

Several buildings on the north side of the Arkansas Tech University campus in Russellville lost electrical power at approximately 3:12 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, due to a thunderstorm in the area.

Staff members in the facilities that have lost power will work remotely for the remainder of the day on Wednesday, April 2.

Students who have night classes on Wednesday, April 2, in buildings such as Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center, Corley Hall and other facilities on the north side of the ATU campus in Russellville should consult Blackboard and/or e-mail for any updates from their instructors.

Chambers Cafeteria has back-up power and will remain open to provide for the food service needs of on-campus students.

Members of the ATU Department of Residence Life staff will be available to assist students who live in buildings that have temporarily lost electrical power due to the thunderstorm that moved through Pope County shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 2.

Hull Building Student Union has electrical power and is open to students.

7:23 p.m. Update:

The Arkansas Tech University Office of Facilities Management reports that power is being restored to the north side of the ATU campus in Russellville.

Personnel from facilities management and information systems will be working this evening to ensure that heating, ventilation, air conditioning and network systems fully and correctly recover from the outage.
