Arkansas Tech University will observe Veterans Day 2019 with a flag raising at 11:11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, on the lawn between Tucker Coliseum and the Doc Bryan Student Services Center.
Following the raising of the U.S. flag, ATU student Jason Velazquez will speak on the importance and meaning of Veterans Day. Velazquez serves in the Arkansas National Guard and is majoring in recreation and parks administration.
The event is presented by the ATU Office of Veteran Services. The mission of the office is to “assist veterans, guardsmen, reservists and their dependents in taking full advantage of all educational benefits to which they are entitled and to assist in their transition to student life and to persist until they have attained their educational goal.”
