The Arkansas Tech University Department of Public Safety reported at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, that a water main was busted near Wilson Residence Hall on the ATU campus in Russellville.
Representatives from City Corporation, the ATU Department of Public Safety and the ATU Office of Facilities Management collaborated to secure the area and repair the water line during the overnight hours on Tuesday, June 29.
Appropriate personnel at Arkansas Tech coordinated their efforts to ensure that any student or camp participant on campus for the evening of Tuesday, June 29, had access to food, bottled water and portable toilets until water service was restored.
A portion of North El Paso Avenue buckled as a result of the water main break. The roadway near Wilson Residence Hall, Nutt Residence Hall and Baswell Techionery will be closed until the damage can be repaired.
