Felisha Weaver, director of publications and creative services at Arkansas Tech University, has been appointed co-chair of the 50th anniversary conference for the University and College Designers Association (UCDA).
The conference will take place in Atlanta, Ga., during October 2020.
In addition, Weaver will serve as conference chair for UCDA when the organization conducts its 2021 annual gathering in Denver, Colo.
Duties of UCDA conference chair include organizing and managing the activities of the annual conference, soliciting speakers, developing programming, creating conference collateral materials and staging. UCDA conference chairs also interface with the UCDA office and board members to create the professional organization’s largest event of the year.
An alumna of Arkansas Tech, Weaver has worked in marketing and communication at ATU for 10 years.
“I’m excited and honored by this appointment,” said Weaver. “It’s even more special that I’ll be co-chairing the conference during the landmark 50th anniversary. I’ve loved being a member of UCDA and now I’m excited to serve this organization and its members by working with volunteers and the home office to create a meaningful learning experience that helps others grow in the profession.”
Weaver has served as a UCDA conference volunteer for five years, and she joined the UCDA member growth and engagement committee in 2019. Weaver received four UCDA awards in 2019 for recruitment pieces she designed, and she contributed to the silver award for best in-house team earned by University Marketing and Communication (MARCOMM) at ATU.
Founded in 1970, UCDA serves more than 1,000 members in the United States and Canada.
