The National Weather Service office in Little Rock is predicting that a moderately impactful snowfall will fall on the region that includes Arkansas Tech University campuses in Russellville and Ozark, possibly beginning as early as the afternoon hours on Thursday, Jan. 9, and continuing through much of Friday, Jan. 10.
As of Tuesday, Jan. 7, the forecast for the region encompassing the ATU campuses is for approximately 4-to-6 inches of snow.
Members of the ATU community are encouraged to follow local media outlets and @NWSLittleRock on Twitter/X for more information as it becomes available.
ATU senior administrators will be closely monitoring the weather situation. If any adjustments to operations become necessary, they will be communicated on www.arkansastechnews.com, ATU e-mail, OneTech campus announcements, ATU social media accounts, local media outlets and through the ATU Alert text messaging system.
In anticipation of the winter weather, the ATU Department of Residence Life has notified students they may begin moving into their residence hall rooms for the spring 2025 semester as early as Wednesday, Jan. 8, at no extra charge.
Should inclement weather affect the ATU campus in Russellville, Chambers Cafeteria will remain open to provide meals for residential students.
