Norman Hall Art Gallery at Arkansas Tech University will begin its fall 2023 schedule with an exhibit of artworks by Leticia Bajuyo entitled “Wistful Wonderment.”
The show will open on Monday, Aug. 14, and remain available 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays (excluding Labor Day) for the subsequent month. A closing gallery talk and reception with the artist is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 14, from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Bajuyo is an interdisciplinary artist and object maker based in Oklahoma. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame and her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Tennessee.
In fall 2022, Bajuyo joined the University of Oklahoma School of Visual Arts faculty. Prior to her professorship in Norman, she served as associate professor at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, visiting assistant professor in sculpture at the University of Notre Dame and professor of art at Hanover College.
Bajuyo has previously displayed solo exhibits at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo., the Beatrice M. Haggerty Gallery in Dallas, Texas, Beeville Art Museum in Beeville, Texas, Hall Art Gallery at Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. and Rudolph Blume Fine Art/ArtScan Gallery in Houston, Texas.
