Arkansas Tech University will recognize the importance of women in the workplace during Women’s Week with a week of events on the Arkansas Tech campus.
The festivities will run from March 6-11, and the schedule of events planned includes:
The Clothesline Project
- Monday, March 6 All day
- Learn more about The Clothesline Project (CLP) and how the project uses art to raise awareness to the problem of violence against women.
- Monday, March 6 from 2-4 p.m. at the Hindsman Tower
- Students will learn about sexual assault and campus resources available
- Co-sponsored by SAB
Walk a Mile Sexual Assault Awareness Rally
Women of Color: Jagged Justice
- Monday, March 6 from 6-8 p.m. in Rothwell Hall 138
- Co-sponsored by the Department of Diversity and Inclusion
- Students will learn more about the history of centuries of broken criminal, civil, and other systems that claim to offer justice.
Masculinity Jeopardy
- Tuesday, March 7 from 7-8 p.m. in the Baswell Techionery
- Students play jeopardy on a variety of topics including masculinity, gender identity and gender myths

Women’s Week Art Exhibit Open House
- Tuesday, March 7 from 6-7 p.m., Witherspoon Lobby
- Check out artwork from Arkansas Tech students. These pieces allowed the artists to create artwork that represented this year’s theme of “Breaking the Mold”.
Salary Negotiation
- Wednesday, March 8 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Senate Room

Self-Defense with Chief McMillan

TedTalk: We Should All Be Feminists
- Friday, March 10 from 3-4 p.m. at Baz-Tech 202
- Presented by Christina Julme
- Attend this video and discussion presentation on what it really means to be a feminist, with a brief history on the origins of feminism.
Women’s Leadership Conference
- Saturday, March 11 from 9-2 p.m. in Rothwell Hall
- Conference features sessions on personal growth, activism, equity and women’s empowerment
