Game One: Tech 12, UAM 7 Arkansas Tech trailed on three separate occasions before rallying late to earn a 12-7 victory over UA-Monticello in the series opener. There were 28 base hits and six errors in the game. John Lassiter put the Wonder Boys in front for good at 8-7 when he came home courtesy of a UAM error in the bottom of the seventh inning. Arkansas Tech tacked on four insurance runs in the last of the eighth inning and Tech relief pitcher Randy Vallejo closed the door with a scoreless top of the ninth. Ethan Crocker (1-0) was credited with the win after one scoreless inning of relief work. James Sharp, Mike Kattula and Kris Ayers had three base hits apiece for the Wonder Boys, while Rafiel Johnson, Patrick Castleberry, Jay Johnson and Lassiter drove in two runs each. Castleberry hit his third home run of the season. Game Two: UAM 11, Tech 1 Ray Johnson was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs to lead UA-Monticello to an 11-1 victory over Arkansas Tech in Friday’s nightcap.
