The University of Central Missouri took 3-of-4 games from Arkansas Tech University during a non-conference baseball series in Warresnburg, Mo., Friday through Sunday.
The Wonder Boys took the opening game of the series 3-2 on Friday afternoon.
Josh Detweiler drove in the tying run with a single, stole second base and scored the go-ahead run on a Mules’ error in the top of the eighth inning.
Armando Romero (1-0) pitched four scoreless innings of relief for the Wonder Boys. Nick Kovar retired Central Missouri in order, including two strikeouts, in the bottom of the ninth inning for his first save of the season.
The Mules (5-2) bounced back to defeat Arkansas Tech 7-3, 2-1 and 9-0 in the final three games of the series.
The Wonder Boys (1-6) will begin Great American Conference play and make their home debut when they welcome Ouachita Baptist University to Carl Baswell Field for a three-game series beginning Saturday, Feb. 15.
