Arkansas Tech pushed three runs across the plate in the bottom of the eighth inning to take a 9-6 win over the Southwestern Oklahoma State Bulldogs in the rubber match of a three-game series at Tech Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Wonder Boys (2-1) got two hits apiece from Nick Makris, Chad Wynn and Madison Beaird. Makris and Tyler Taunton (photographed) both had two runs batted in as Tech won the season-opening series.
Cody Hatman (1-0) pitched two and two-thirds innings of relief to earn the victory on the mound.
Arkansas Tech will host Missouri Southern for a doubleheader at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
