Arkansas Tech University sorority Zeta Tau Alpha will host a series of events as part of “Think Pink Week”. The week-long event is focused on raising awareness and funds in honor of breast cancer awareness month.
Arkansas Tech University sorority Zeta Tau Alpha will host a series of events as part of “Think Pink Week”. The week-long event is focused on raising awareness and funds in honor of breast cancer awareness month.
Breast cancer education and awareness is the national philanthropy of Zeta Tau Alpha, and members of the organization welcome all students, faculty and staff to participate in their effort to raise awareness and educate.
The events planned throughout the week include:
Monday
- 11 a.m.- 4 p.m.- Informational Day at Baz-Tech– Learn more about breast cancer awareness
- 11 a.m.-1 p.m.- Kissing Booth at West Chamber’s Lawn– ZTA will be selling kisses on the cheek for $1
Wednesday
- 7-9 p.m.- Yogurt eating contest in the Young Ballroom– Participants compete to see who can eat the most yogurt. The lids will be collected for donation to breast cancer research.
Thursday
- 11 a.m.-2 p.m.- Bake Sell and Pink Lemonade Stand at the Hindsman Bell Tower– Participants can purchase a sweet treat to support cancer research.
Friday
- 10 a.m.-6 p.m.- Wear Pink and shop– Area retailer Lavish is donating 15% profit of their sales to Zeta Tau Alpha and breast cancer research
Saturday
- 9 a.m.- Think Pink 5K– Preregistration begins at 9 a.m., and the 5K starts at 9:30 a.m. Race costs $25 per person and includes a race t-shirt.
- 1:30 p.m.- Balloon Release at Thone Stadium– ZTA will host a balloon release prior to Saturday’s football game.
